For generations, DUTCH grandmothers cherished a simple but powerful beauty ritual: washing the skin with buttermilk to restore its softness and natural glow.
Inspired by this timeless tradition, we sought to understand the science behind it. Our research led us to the discovery of Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, a potent bioactive derived from fermentation — the same natural process that made buttermilk so beloved.In rural areas of GERMANY, whey (Molke) was not only consumed for health but also used externally for bathing and washing the face. In fact, 19th-century European spas offered “Molke baths” for skin rejuvenation.
But the story doesn’t end in Europe. Surprisingly, this fermented ingredient was also celebrated in ancient Eastern medicine. The legendary Persian physician Avicenna (Ibn Sina) documented the skin-healing properties of fermented substances centuries ago.
